Hundreds of BBC readers disagreed with former Asda boss Lord Rose's view that working from home is "not proper work".

* One respondent, Alba (52), said she needs to work from home due to chronic pain and health issues.
* Many respondents cited health issues as a key reason for flexible working arrangements, and 250 out of 357 responses supported working from home as essential.
* Experts highlighted the benefits of remote work for both employees and employers, including reduced staff turnover and sickness absence.
* Some employees reported improved productivity and career progression since starting to work from home.
* A snapshot survey by the Office for National Statistics found that 25% of working adults in Great Britain were hybrid working in January 2025, while 15% worked from home.
* However, some respondents opposed working from home, citing isolation, health concerns, or lack of support from employers.
