CEO Brian Niccol said the company is changing the operating model for its retail team, which led to the shake-up.
Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol has announced significant changes to the company's leadership team as part of its "Back to Starbucks" plan. Two new executives from Taco Bell will join the company, including Mike Grams as North America chief stores officer and Meredith Sandland as chief store development officer. The role of North American president is being split into two positions, with Sara Trilling departing the company after serving since 2002. Sandland will oversee implementing Niccol's vision to decrease service times, make stores more welcoming, and slash the menu. Grams has over 30 years of experience at Taco Bell, while Sandland was previously CEO of Empower Delivery and chief operating officer of Kitchen United.
