Move away from its ancestral home is part of a wider shakeup at its parent company Yum Brands.
* KFC's corporate headquarters will move from Louisville, Kentucky to Plano, Texas
* About 100 employees and dozens of remote workers will be required to relocate
* Relocation support will be provided to affected employees
* Yum Brands will maintain its corporate offices and the KFC Foundation in Louisville
* The decision is part of a plan to have two headquarters for Yum's main brands: Plano for KFC and Pizza Hut, and Irvine, California for Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill
* The move is expected to boost collaboration between employees and brands
* Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky has criticized the decision, saying it would disappoint Colonel Harland Sanders and goes against the company's roots in the state.
