A minister says nearly all key details have been finalised for a deal giving the US access to the country's minerals.

* Talks between Kyiv and Washington have been "very constructive" with nearly all key details finalized.
* Ukrainian Minister Olga Stefanishyna says negotiations are close to a deal, which would secure the United States' commitment to a free, sovereign, and secure Ukraine.
* Ukraine has significant deposits of critical minerals, including graphite, lithium, titanium, and rare earth metals.
* The US is keen on accessing these resources to reduce its dependence on China, which controls 75% of rare earth deposits globally.
* A deal would also help Ukraine develop its mineral resources with the aid of American investors.
