Warner Bros Games joins a growing list of companies making cuts in the gaming industry.

* Warner Bros Discovery has confirmed plans to shut three gaming development studios: Monolith, Player First Games, and Warner Bros. Games San Diego
* The Wonder Woman game, which was in production for 3 years at Monolith, will not be released due to strategic priorities
* MultiVersus, another game developed by Player First Games, will no longer receive updates and must be played offline
* Warner Bros will focus on developing core franchises including Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC, and Game of Thrones
* The decision is aimed at boosting profitability after a difficult time in the industry with widespread job losses since the Covid pandemic
* Last year saw numerous games delayed or cancelled, studios closed, and thousands of layoffs across the industry
