It is the eighth recall involving the pickup since early 2024, shortly after the truck hit the roads.
* Over 46,000 Tesla Cybertrucks have been recalled in the US due to concerns that a part of the trim could fall off.
* The issue affects nearly all Cybertrucks made since November 2023 and is the largest recall for the model so far.
* Prior recalls involved issues such as failing windshield wipers and trapped accelerator pedals.
* The affected part, called the cant rail, can delaminate and detach from the vehicle, posing a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
* Tesla estimates that the issue affects about 1% of vehicles in the recall, but has received around 150 claims from drivers about the problem.
* The company will replace the affected part free-of-charge under warranty for new owners.
* The recall is the latest challenge for Tesla, which has seen its shares drop nearly 40% since January and faces increased competition and brand damage due to Elon Musk's political role.
