Tue, 25 Mar 2025 Pizza Hut workers accuse franchisee of docking wages

The Glenshire Group altered old timesheets and stopped petrol money, a grievance seen exclusively by the BBC claims.

* A grievance has been filed against Glenshire Group, a Pizza Hut franchise in Scotland, by the Unite union on behalf of drivers.
* The drivers claim that their timesheets were altered, wages were docked, and payments per delivery stopped without consultation or warning.
* Delivery driver Cian stated that his pay was increased to £12.21 an hour but he lost his £1.45 delivery payment, which would have covered fuel and some car expenses.
* Over 100 drivers are at risk of being "cynically offloaded" by the company before the April wage increases, according to Unite's head of hospitality Bryan Simpson.
* Glenshire Group has been accused of acting "fraudulently" by retroactively adding unpaid 20-minute rest breaks to old staff timesheets and deducting them from wages.
* Employment lawyer Joanne Moseley warned that Glenshire could be in breach of minimum wage regulations if they don't reimburse drivers for their petrol expenses.
* Several drivers have already quit the company, with one store losing all its drivers.
* Pizza Hut UK has stated that it takes allegations seriously and will continue to investigate.
