The consumer group says many chocolate treats have shot up in price while several have been hit by "shrinkflation".
* Easter egg prices have risen by up to 50% compared to last year
* Chocolate prices have increased by 16.5%
* "Shrinkflation" has occurred, with some products getting smaller but not cheaper:
+ Terry's chocolate orange mini eggs: 80g pouch cost £0.99 in 2024, now 70g and £1.35 (56% increase)
+ Twix white chocolate Easter egg at Tesco: increased from £5 to £6, shrunk from 316g to 258g (47% increase per 100g)
* Other examples of price rises:
+ Cadbury Creme Eggs (200g): increased from £2.62 to £4
+ Nestle Kit Kat Chunky milk chocolate Easter egg: reduced from 129g to 110g, making it 17% more expensive per 100g
* Own-brand chocolate prices have also risen significantly:
+ Sainsbury's Stamford Street Co Milk Chocolate (100g): increased from £0.50 to £1.03 (108% increase)
+ Asda Fruit & Nut Milk Chocolate (200g): increased from £1.33 to £2.30 (73% increase)
* Online supermarket Ocado has also seen price rises:
+ Nomo Creamy Choc Buttons (110g): increased from £2.43 to £3.97 (63% increase)
