Wed, 02 Apr 2025 Council offers grants to help with cost of living

Rotherham Council allocates £4.3m to helping its residents with food and energy costs.
£2.6m for food vouchers for children eligible for free school meals to use in holidays £950,000 to help 14,400 households with council tax bills, covering costs for many in 2025/26 financial year £500,000 to assist households with energy costs through one-off grants of £250 £60,000 to support vulnerable households through food hampers and emergency financial aid from local voluntary organisations £90,000 to help care leavers with living expenses £100,000 for parcels containing household essentials such as cleaning and hygiene items, distributed via community networks
