Teckels Animal Rescue says people are struggling with the rising cost of food and insurance.
The sanctuary says it's seen an increase in requests for help due to rising pet food costs, which can be up to hundreds of pounds per year. It aims to keep pets with their families rather than rehoming them. National charity Blue Cross reports that they have seen more animals being left abandoned with notes on them as owners struggle to afford care. The charity says there's no stigma in asking for help and encourages people to contact them or other charities if they need assistance feeding their pets.
