Engineer Cristina Balan raised a safety concern about a design flaw which could affect the cars' braking in 2014.
A Tesla whistleblower, Cristina Balan, has won her appeal in a long-running defamation case against the company and its CEO Elon Musk. She was fired after raising safety concerns about a design flaw in 2014 that could affect car braking. A judge initially confirmed an arbitration decision dismissing her claim, but a panel of California appeals judges reversed this decision in her favor. Balan now wants to face Musk and Tesla in open court. The case is likely to restart from scratch, allowing her to launch new proceedings against the company.
