The talks are likely to focus on fast-tracking a trade deal, earlier expected to conclude by the end of 2025.
* US Vice-President JD Vance has arrived in Delhi, India, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on trade tensions and a bilateral trade deal.
* The talks come as countries rush to negotiate trade deals before US President Donald Trump's 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs ends on July 9.
* Vance is also expected to go sightseeing in Agra and Jaipur with his family.
* India has already slashed tariffs on some US goods, but the two sides still have a $45bn trade surplus in favor of India.
* The US had imposed a 27% tariff on Indian imports before temporarily halting it in April.
* Trump has repeatedly called India a "tariff abuser" and set an ambitious target to more than double bilateral trade to $500bn.
