Gatwick has responded to the Secretary of State's request for feedback on additional conditions.
* Gatwick Airport has agreed to stricter limits on aircraft noise and presented improved plans in response to government approval for a second runway.
* The airport has accepted a requirement for 54% of passengers to use public transport, but needs support from third parties, including the Department for Transport, to meet this target.
* If the 54% public transport target is not achieved, an alternative cars-on-the-road limit should be met instead.
* If neither the public transport mode share nor the cars-on-the-road limit are met, the second runway would be delayed until £350m of road improvements have been completed.
* The airport has also proposed measures to strengthen sustainable design and reduce emissions.
* The Secretary of State is expected to make a final decision by October 27.
