The directors of Moorcroft Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent say they are going into voluntary liquidation.
Moorcroft Pottery, a firm based in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, has ceased trading after over 100 years. The company's directors announced on social media that they have instructed insolvency business Moore Recovery to liquidate the company voluntarily. According to reports, Moorcroft had warned of possible redundancies in March due to rising costs and falling sales. The firm was founded in 1897 and had been based at its current site since 1913. It held royal patronage from HM Queen Elizabeth II and its designs were included in the Royal Collection.
