The electric car firm says a report that it is hunting for a successor is "absolutely false".
* Tesla denies reports that it has contacted recruitment firms to find a replacement for Elon Musk as CEO.
* The Wall Street Journal reported that Tesla's board had begun looking for a successor due to frustration with Musk's focus on his job in Donald Trump's administration and the company's sinking share price.
* Tesla chair Robyn Denholm said the report was "absolutely false" and that the board is "highly confident" in Musk's ability to continue leading the company.
* Elon Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that The Wall Street Journal's reporting was a "discredit to journalism".
* Musk pledged last week to spend more time at Tesla and cut back his government role, but critics say his leadership of Trump's advisory body is causing controversy and damaging the brand.
