Fri, 16 May 2025 Four Premier League clubs warned over gambling sponsors

Four Premier League clubs have been warned by the Gambling Commission over their relationship with an unlicensed gambling business.
Four Premier League clubs - Bournemouth, Fulham, Newcastle, and Wolves - are among those who have been warned by the Gambling Commission over their sponsorship deals with TGP Europe, an unlicensed betting company that surrendered its British license due to breaches of anti-money laundering rules. The company's brands appear on matchday shirts as sponsors or partners, including bj88 (Bournemouth), SBOTOP (Fulham), and 96.com (Wolves). If the clubs continue to promote these unlicensed businesses, they may face prosecution and potential imprisonment and/or fines. The Gambling Commission is seeking assurances that consumers in Great Britain cannot transact with the affected sites, which includes geo-blocking measures that can be easily bypassed by virtual private networks.
