Domestic energy prices are forecast to fall in July, reversing three consecutive increases in the regulator's price cap.
* The energy price cap will fall by £129 a year in July, marking the first drop in a year.
* A typical annual bill for a dual-fuel customer paying by direct debit will cost £1,720, down from £1,849.
* The price cap covers around 22 million households in England, Wales, and Scotland.
* Analysts at Cornwall Insight predict that prices will fall again in October and January 2026, but warn of uncertainty due to various factors such as weather patterns and global events.
* Despite the drop, energy bills remain above levels seen at the start of the decade, and experts are calling for further support for those struggling with cost of living.
