Tue, 20 May 2025 Ryanair tells flight attendants to repay salary rises

The Irish airline is pursuing members of a Spanish union to hand back up to €3,000 following a ruling.

* Ryanair ordered some flight attendants in Spain to repay salary increases of up to €3,000 following a court case that nullified an agreement with the CCOO union.
* The pay rise was agreed with CCOO and applied to all flight attendants, regardless of their union affiliation. However, Union Sindical Obrera (USO) won a court case in March to nullify the deal.
* Ryanair is now informing USO members how much they owe, with the amount ranging from €1,500 to €3,000.
* The airline claims it is complying with the court decision and that USO is complaining about pay cuts resulting from their own court case.
* Union Sindical Obrera has objected to the original agreement, saying those negotiating were not authorized to do so for its members and "legally couldn't sign that kind of agreement".
* Non-USO union members and those who are part of the CCOO will not be required to pay back their increased salaries.
* Ryanair is offering a payment plan to affected flight attendants, allowing them to repay the money over a year by taking a sum out of their monthly salary.
