Thu, 22 May 2025 Heathrow workers' strike may intensify - union

Unite says about 800 of its members employed by firm Wilson James are now taking industrial action.

* Hundreds of workers assisting passengers with restricted mobility at Heathrow airport have gone on strike due to a pay dispute.
* The union, Unite, has warned that strikes will intensify unless the dispute is resolved and claims its members are paid 10% less than similar staff at Gatwick Airport.
* About 800 workers from firm Wilson James are involved in the industrial action.
* Strikes began with 500 workers on April 9th and have since been joined by over 300 more colleagues.
* Unite has given an ultimatum to Heathrow bosses, stating that they need to tell Wilson James to make a fair offer or else strikes will continue to intensify.
