Thu, 29 May 2025 Haribo recalls bags of sweets in Netherlands after cannabis found

The confectionary company says it is working with the police after several people report feeling ill.

* Haribo is recalling packets of Happy Cola F!ZZ sweets in the Netherlands due to contamination with cannabis.
* Some people, including members of a family, reported feeling unwell after eating the sweets, including dizziness and other health complaints.
* Samples taken by the NVWA found cannabis in three packs, leading to an entire stock recall as a precaution.
* The contaminated bags have a best-before date of January 2026 and it's unclear how many people have been affected.
* Haribo is working with police to investigate the contamination and has assured consumers that other products are safe to eat.
