The remarks from both sides raise concerns that a trade war could erupt again between the two largest economies.
Trump said China had "totally violated its agreement" without giving details, but US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer later stated that China had not removed non-tariff barriers as agreed under the deal.
China responded by urging the US to end discriminatory restrictions against it and uphold the consensus reached in Geneva.
The claims come after recent talks between Washington and Beijing, which had resulted in a deal to lower tit-for-tat tariffs imposed on each other's imports. The US lowered its tariffs from 145% to 30%, while China dropped its retaliatory tariffs from 125% to 10%.
US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said that when China responded to the US's tariffs, they also put in place countermeasures such as putting some US companies on blacklists and restricting exports of rare earth magnets.
China said it had "repeatedly raised concerns" with the US over its use of export control measures in the semiconductor sector and urged the US to correct its erroneous actions.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said trade talks with China had become "a bit stalled", but expressed confidence that further deals could be reached.
