It comes after the BBC finds food listed on TikTok shop without ingredient and allergen information.
* TikTok users selling food on TikTok Shop without listing allergen information
* 14 main allergens that UK businesses are legally required to declare, including milk and wheat
* Sellers not providing ingredient or allergy information despite policies and processes in place by TikTok
* Examples of sellers:
+ Mega Buy UK: listed ingredients and allergens as "not applicable"
+ The Nashville Burger: contained milk and wheat but listed allergen information as "spices" and ingredient description as "flour"
+ UK Snack Supply: advertising lollipops and crisps with no ingredient or allergen information
* All three companies still on TikTok Shop selling other products without providing full allergen information
* Concerns from allergy charities:
+ Anaphylaxis UK's Simon Williams warns that failing to provide ingredient information is "potentially very dangerous"
+ Natasha Allergy Research Foundation co-founder Tanya Ednan-Laperouse says TikTok is responsible for ensuring sellers meet legislative requirements
+ Kate Lancaster, The Dairy Free Mum, thinks TikTok has a responsibility to ensure products sold on its shopping platform meet safety and labelling standards
* Calls for TikTok to take action:
+ Remove sellers that breach policies and procedures
+ Penalize those who don't provide correct information
+ Improve measures to ensure labeling is in place
