The media giant has been under pressure as viewers move away from cable TV to streaming platforms.
* Disney has announced it will be laying off several hundred more people worldwide.
* The job cuts will impact various teams, including:
+ Marketing departments for film and television units
+ Casting and development department
+ Corporate finance department
* No teams will be closed down entirely.
* This is in addition to the 7,000 layoffs announced in 2023 as part of a cost-cutting drive to save $5.5bn (£4.1bn).
* The company employs 233,000 workers globally, with around 60,000 based outside the US.
* Disney's revenue for the first three months of this year was $23.6bn, a 7% increase from the same period in 2023.
* This growth is attributed to new subscribers to its Disney+ streaming service.
