Liz Kendall tries to ease the impact of planned benefits cuts as Labour MPs consider rebelling.
* People who lose Personal Independence Payment (Pip) will receive it for a transitional period of 13 weeks, rather than the usual 4 weeks.
* Carer's Allowance will continue to be paid during the 13-week transition, but will end when Pip is taken away.
* Benefits recipients with severe health conditions will not be reassessed and will receive extra income support through Universal Credit payments.
* A scheme will be introduced allowing disabled people to try employment without risking loss of benefits.
* These "non-negotiable" protections will be written into law and added to the welfare reform bill.
