Tue, 01 Jul 2025 M&S should be 'fully online' within four weeks, says boss

The retailer continues to recover from a cyber attack that is expected to hit profits by £300m.
Marks & Spencer's (M&S) online shopping is expected to be fully restored within four weeks, according to its boss Stuart Machin. Despite restarting internet orders in June, around half of M&S' online operations remain offline, including click and collect services. The retailer aims to get its Castle Donington distribution centre back up and running soon. By August, M&S hopes that most of the disruptions caused by a cyber attack in April will be behind them. The attack locked up M&S systems for about six weeks, causing sales to decline for around 6 weeks and resulting in an estimated £300m loss in profits this year. Customers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are still waiting for online orders to resume.
