Coca-Cola said they "appreciate President Trump's enthusiasm", without confirming they plan to make the tweak.
Coca-Cola has reportedly agreed to use real cane sugar in its US products, following pressure from President Donald Trump and his Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr. The move comes after concerns were raised about the health impacts of corn syrup, which is currently used in American Coke products but not in many other countries. Trump took to social media to announce the decision, saying he had been speaking with Coca-Cola executives and they had agreed to make the change. A spokesperson for the company responded by saying they "appreciate President Trump's enthusiasm" but did not confirm any changes to their recipe. The move has been met with criticism from corn farmers' groups, who warn that it could lead to job losses and higher import costs.
