Mon, 21 Jul 2025 Car maker Stellantis says US tariffs have cost it €300m

The company behind the brands Vauxhall, Jeep and Fiat says Trump's 25% tariff on cars has hit trade.
Car manufacturer Stellantis has been hit with a €300m financial loss due to US President Donald Trump's tariffs, which have already impacted trade and production. The company owns 14 brands, including Vauxhall, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Citroen, Chrysler, and Dodge. Shipments to North America were down by 25% in the three months to June compared to last year, while total sales fell by 10%. Stellantis has forecast revenues of €74.3bn for the first half of the year but expects a net loss of €2.3bn due to the tariffs. Trump had introduced a 25% tariff on imported cars in April, which has put pressure on global car trade and supply chains, with some manufacturers temporarily halting exports to the US.
