Mon, 11 Aug 2025 EasyJet pilot suspended after 'drunk and naked' incident

The budget airline grounded the unnamed pilot after hotel guests reportedly complained after the incident in Cape Verde.
The pilot had arrived at the Melia Dunas Beach Resort and Spa on August 4 and began drinking, according to reports. The following morning, around 02:30 local time, hotel guests reportedly saw him strip off and wander into the reception area before moving on to the gym and spa. He was scheduled to operate a return flight from Cape Verde to Gatwick on August 6 but was removed from duty after EasyJet received complaints about the incident. A replacement pilot was found and the flight went ahead as planned. EasyJet confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the incident, which is in line with their procedures for dealing with such matters. The airline stated that the safety of passengers and crew is its "highest priority".
