Primary school uniforms cost parents, on average, more than £300 a year, government figures show.
* The Salvation Army-run shop offers new and pre-loved uniforms to parents at no cost, with a "no judgement" policy.
* Chantal, a mother-of-three from Coleford, described the shop as a "godsend" after struggling to afford uniform for her tall daughter.
* Department for Education figures show that the average cost of a full secondary school uniform and PE kit is over £400, while some primary school uniforms cost up to £300.
* A similar scheme in Wiltshire has supported over 1,600 families since its launch, with founder Jade Ugur saying it can be "difficult for parents" to afford the costs.
* The Broadwell shop is open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 14:00 BST.
