Unite says the second round of strikes, planned for later in August, could still go ahead.
Strikes by baggage screeners at Gatwick Airport have been put on hold after an improved pay offer from ICTS. The Unite union said it will now ballot its members over the new offer, but warned that further walkouts could still happen if the deal is rejected. If this happens, a second round of strikes planned for 29 August to 2 September would go ahead as scheduled. Gatwick Airport has welcomed the suspension of the strike action and expressed confidence in operating a normal summer flight schedule.
