Staff said they were giving away items in an effort to reduce the cost of living for customers.

* Devon charity Refurnish offers free school uniform items year-round from its Tiverton branch
* The scheme aims to help reduce cost of living for customers, especially mid-year when uniforms can be expensive to replace
* All children's toys, books, DVDs and clothes are also available free of charge to support families during the summer holidays
* A similar scheme has been successful in Refurnish South Molton since 2018
* One customer, an 8-year-old girl, was thrilled to get new shoes for free and took advantage of the offer to collect more items.
