The event will take place at the TC60 gym in Hull, with one free uniform per child on offer.
Former boxer Tommy Coyle will be giving away free school uniforms at his gym, TC60, in Hull today between 11am and 1pm. Mr Coyle, a former Commonwealth lightweight champion, started this annual event during the Covid-19 pandemic to help families struggling with financial difficulties.
He said: "I know how hard it can be for families to afford school uniforms at this time of year. Me and some friends from local companies have come together to help those who need support."
This is the 4th year Mr Coyle has held the giveaway, which has grown in demand each year. Last year, he spent £30,000 on uniforms.
To prevent people taking more than they need, checks will be in place this year. People will receive a ticket with their child's name and age, and will then be given one full school uniform for each child.
The event is supported by local businesses including MKM, Cranswick and Transwaste Recycling.
Mr Coyle was granted Freedom of the City of Hull in July for his charitable work to tackle child poverty and youth violence.
