I've attended many car accidents for work, but being directly involved in one gave me a different perspective.
* Stop your car and turn off the engine immediately after a collision.
* Check yourself and passengers for injuries, then try to move your vehicle to a safe place if possible.
* Call 999 if someone is injured or if the other party drives away.
* Exchange details with the other driver, including their name, address, contact info, and insurance information.
* Take photos of the damage and scene from different angles.
* Look for CCTV footage in nearby buildings or on public roads.
* Make notes about the incident, including time, date, vehicle info, injuries sustained, direction of travel, and any other relevant details.
* Consider investing in a dashcam to provide clear video evidence of what happened.
