The company continues the complex work of restoring its systems after the cyber attack on the weekend.
Jaguar Land Rover has instructed factory staff to remain at home until at least Tuesday due to a cyber attack that forced the company to shut down vital IT systems over the weekend. The incident has disrupted car sales and production, with factories in Halewood, Solihull, and Wolverhampton currently halted. Car buyers have also been affected, with some transactions unable to proceed. To mitigate the damage, JLR is working to restore its systems in a controlled manner, while introducing workarounds for unaffected systems. However, experts say this process may take longer than expected due to its complexity.
Meanwhile, a hacker group that claimed responsibility for an attack on Marks & Spencer earlier this year has admitted to infiltrating JLR's systems, but the extent of the breach remains unclear. The company is investigating and maintains that no customer data has been stolen so far.
The cyber attack comes at a challenging time for Jaguar Land Rover, which has already reported a slump in profits due to rising costs caused by US tariffs.
