Wed, 17 Sep 2025 Nvidia boss 'disappointed' by report of China chip ban

Jensen Huang told reporters he would be "patient" as the US and China grapple for global AI dominance.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed disappointment over China's move to halt purchases of his company's AI chips, but said he would remain patient and supportive of US efforts to resolve geopolitical issues. China's internet regulator ordered top tech companies to stop using Nvidia's advanced chips manufactured specifically for the Chinese market. This decision affects companies like DeepSeek, Tencent, and Alibaba, which had previously ordered Nvidia chips. Despite this setback, Huang stated that his company can still operate in other regions and that there are "a lot of places we can't go to, and that's fine." The move comes after a recent deal between the US government and Nvidia, where the company agreed to pay 15% of its Chinese revenues to the US. Nvidia's stock price dropped by over 1% in premarket trading following the news.
