Tue, 07 Oct 2025 Two teenagers arrested over cyber-attack on nursery chain

Hackers were said to have stolen the photographs, names and addresses of about 8,000 children.

* Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested by police investigating a cyber-attack on a chain of nurseries in London.
* They were detained at residential addresses in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, on suspicion of computer misuse and blackmail.
* Hackers had stolen personal data from around 8,000 children, including photographs, names, and addresses.
* The Met Police received a referral about the ransomware attack from Action Fraud on September 25.
* Those arrested remain in custody for questioning.
* Will Lyne, Head of Economic and Cybercrime at the Met, said: "Our work continues to ensure those responsible are brought to justice."
* The cyber-attack was carried out by hackers calling themselves Radiant, who attempted to extort £600,000 from Kido nursery chain in Bitcoin.
* Parents were contacted directly by the hackers, who posted images and profiles of some children on a darknet site before eventually deleting all data.
