Mon, 13 Oct 2025 Vodafone admits 'major outage' as more than 130,000 report problems

Vodafone claims to have more than 18 million customers in the UK, including nearly 700,000 home broadband customers.

* Thousands of Vodafone customers in the UK reported outages on Monday afternoon
* Downdetector showed over 130,000 people flagged problems with their Vodafone broadband or mobile network
* The outage affected both broadband and mobile services, including 4G and 5G, but 2G voice calls and SMS messaging were unaffected
* Customers took to social media to complain of "complete outages" in their area and difficulty accessing customer service operators and the company's website and app
* The issues began around 15:00 BST and Vodafone apologized for the inconvenience caused, stating that its network was "recovering"
* The outage also affected customers of other telecoms firms that use Vodafone's network, including Voxi and Lebara
* Vodafone has not yet said how long it expects the outage to last or what caused the issue affecting its networks
