The Chamber argues that the fee "will inflict significant harm" on American businesses and force them to increase labor costs or hire fewer skilled employees. Critics say the visa programme has been abused, but supporters argue that it enables the US to attract top talent from around the world. Tech executives such as Elon Musk, Satya Nadella, and Sundar Pichai have spoken out against the fee, saying it will harm American businesses. The Chamber also praised Trump's agenda on taxes, energy, and regulations in its press release.
