The cyber attack on Jaguar Land Rover is estimated to cost £2.1bn, the Cyber Monitoring Centre says.

* Most economically damaging cyber event in UK history
* Affected businesses: 5,000
* Full recovery expected: January 2026
* JLR's production halted for five weeks due to hack
* Most affected by the hack:
+ JLR itself (£960m-£1.2bn)
+ Supply chain (£200-£400m)
+ Local economy (£140-£280m)
* CMC classified the incident as a Category 3 event (significant, but not most severe)
* Cost estimated to be lower than possible ransom payment
* Hack was reported in late August and caused IT shutdown and manufacturing halt
