* She is one of the UK's most senior finance leaders and oversees the Bank's £1 trillion balance sheet and funding reforms.
* The list recognizes the most powerful people of African, African Caribbean, and African American heritage in the UK.
* Kyei said topping the list was "incredibly humbling" and hopes to inspire young people from diverse backgrounds to consider careers in banking.
* She spoke about her childhood experiences of seeing few women in leadership roles with families and how the Bank of England supports working families.
* Kyei has a background in chemistry, having studied at Oxford University, and was recruited by former Prime Minister Mark Carney to join the Bank of England in 2019.
