Tue, 28 Oct 2025 Advice roadshow aims to help cut household bills

Free energy saving gadgets as well as advice about finances are being offered by experts.

*The roadshows, which have taken place in Hunstanton, Downham Market and Dersingham so far, aim to tackle financial worries before they lead to serious problems such as losing a home or turning to illegal lenders.
*Pensioner Hillary Letch said she was worried about paying her bills this winter after her husband's death reduced her income.
*The council's Lily Project is providing advice on debt, benefits and energy efficiency measures, including the distribution of energy-efficient light bulbs and low-flow shower heads.
*Energy company increases in standing charges have been a particular concern for some residents, with Richard Carter saying that trying to save electricity "doesn't seem worth it" if standing charges are going up anyway.
*The council aims to reach hundreds of people through its roadshows and is encouraging those struggling financially to seek help before taking drastic measures.
