Fresh from $5 trillion valuation, global chips giant Nvidia has signed deals with LG, Hyundai and Samsung
* Nvidia will supply over 260,000 AI chips to South Korea's government and companies like Samsung, LG, and Hyundai.
* The deal will help South Korea produce intelligence as a new export and enable companies to create "digital twins" with other factories worldwide.
* Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company is expanding its AI infrastructure globally and this deal is part of that effort.
* The South Korean government plans to build computing infrastructure controlled by them, known as "sovereign AI".
* Over 50,000 Nvidia chips will power data centers at the National AI Computing Center and facilities owned by South Korean companies like Kakao and Naver.
* The deal comes as Nvidia navigates the fallout of the China-US trade war, with China being a significant market for Nvidia's chips in the past.
* The US imposes export controls on sales to China of Nvidia's most-advanced AI chips, but Huang expressed hope that talks between Trump and Xi will lead to new policies allowing chip exports to resume.
* South Korea aims to become a regional AI hub and wants to expand its AI infrastructure due to its access to energy and land.
* The deal also highlights the importance of Nvidia's partnerships in Asia, particularly with Samsung and TSMC.
