Wed, 05 Nov 2025 Mone-linked firm PPE Medpro owes £39m in taxes

Administrator's report shows firm owes £39m to HMRC on top of £148m owed to Department of Health

* A company linked to Baroness Michelle Mone and her husband Doug Barrowman, PPE Medpro, owes £39m in tax.
* The company was previously ordered to pay £148m to the government for breaching a contract to supply PPE during the Covid pandemic.
* Documents filed by PPE Medpro's administrator revealed the new figure owed to HMRC.
* The administrators declined to comment and HMRC also refused to comment.
* Health Secretary Wes Streeting said the government would pursue the company "with everything we've got" to recover the cash.
* PPE Medpro has £672,774 available for unsecured creditors but owes a much larger sum to the government.
* During the pandemic, Baroness Mone's husband won a contract to supply masks through a VIP lane after being recommended by her.
* He later admitted receiving more than £60m in profits from PPE Medpro and putting some of these funds into a trust for himself and his children.
