A judge in India's Supreme Court has insisted that nobody can blame the aircraft's captain.
Critics of the investigation argue that it focuses too much on pilot actions and ignores potential system failures that could have contributed to the disaster. A lawyer representing victims' families claims that releasing information has led people to unfairly blame the pilots for suicide or mass murder.
An independent report by Capt. Amit Singh challenges the preliminary report, suggesting an electrical fault may have caused the engine shutdown that led to the crash. The report also questions the framing of the investigation, arguing it appears biased towards pilot error without disclosing all technical anomalies during the flight.
The Supreme Court has taken note of these concerns and is considering a petition for an independent judicial inquiry into the tragedy. A further hearing is expected on November 10th.
