Mon, 10 Nov 2025 Heathrow should be expanded without moving M25, says BA boss

British Airways CEO Sean Doyle tells an aviation conference he would prefer to see a shorter runway.

* British Airways CEO Sean Doyle says Heathrow Airport's expansion should be done without moving the M25 motorway
* Two proposals are being considered: one from Heathrow's owners, which involves a 3,500m runway and diverting the M25, and another from Arora Group, which is for a 2,800m runway with no need to move the M25
* Arora Group's bid is £24bn cheaper than Heathrow's proposal, but would still require additional infrastructure
* Doyle says it makes "logic" to avoid moving the M25 if possible and suggests looking at building a shorter runway
* The government has asked both applicants for more details on their plans, including impact on investors, communities and businesses
