Tue, 18 Nov 2025 Don't blindly trust what AI tells you, says Google's Sundar Pichai

Sundar Pichai candidly acknowledged concerns about inaccurate answers generated by Google's models.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet (Google's parent company), has warned against blindly trusting AI tools. He stated that AI models are prone to errors and should be used alongside other tools for accurate information. Pichai emphasized the importance of having a rich information ecosystem, rather than relying solely on AI technology. He highlighted Google's diverse range of products, including search, which provide accurate information. The CEO noted that while AI tools can be helpful for creative tasks like writing, people should not rely on them exclusively and must learn to use them for their intended purposes. Pichai also discussed the challenges of developing AI technology at a rapid pace without compromising safety. He stated that Alphabet is investing in AI security, including open-sourcing technology to detect AI-generated images. Regarding concerns about the potential dominance of one company in the AI space, Pichai emphasized that there are many companies working on AI and that no single entity should own such powerful technology. The comments come as Google's consumer AI model, Gemini 3.0, is released, aiming to compete with ChatGPT.
