The online marketplace removed adverts which included a video a user said depicted a pornographic scene.
Vinted, an online marketplace, has removed sexually explicit adverts after a mother reported seeing a pornographic video while browsing for clothes on the app. The advert was promoting DramaWave, a mobile app that creates short-form scripted stories for social platforms, and was playing automatically. Vinted has stated that they have a "zero-tolerance policy" for unsolicited sexual communications and the promotion of sexual content, and will block or remove listings or ads that violate these rules. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has also confirmed that their rules prohibit ads that cause harm or offense, particularly those that depict degrading portrayals of women. A new UK law aimed at protecting children from explicit online content may also be relevant in this case, although it currently only covers fraudulent advertising.
