Fri, 21 Nov 2025 Sweaty Betty offers £4k for slogan use and silence

Georgina Cox wants clothing firm Sweaty Betty to apologise and pay influencers it works with fairly.

* A personal trainer, Georgina Cox, was offered a £4,000 settlement by Sweaty Betty over a disputed slogan.
* Cox claimed Sweaty Betty used her phrase "Wear The Damn Shorts" in its latest campaign without crediting her.
* The company said they had been using the phrase for three years and respected Cox's association with it.
* Cox alleged that after she posted about the situation online, she was threatened with legal action for defamation and received a "cease and desist" letter from Sweaty Betty.
* Cox claimed she was left feeling "hurt", "terrified", and experienced physical and mental health problems due to the stress caused by the situation.
* As part of the proposed settlement, Sweaty Betty would have continued to use the slogan without crediting Cox and required her to keep the deal confidential.
