Mon, 24 Nov 2025 Metals recycling company files for liquidation

It is not clear how many jobs are at risk within the company which has sites across the UK.
Unimetals, a UK-based recycling company with multiple sites across the country, has filed for liquidation despite efforts to secure new financing. The firm's head office is in Stratford-upon-Avon and it operates in several locations, including London, Manchester, and Devon. According to a spokesperson, Unimetals had explored all possible options to stay afloat but was unable to conclude a deal with potential buyers or investors. Alvarez & Marsal has been brought in to assist with the liquidation process, which is expected to have an impact on employees who have worked for the company since its acquisition of Sims Metal's UK business in 2024. Unimetals is now working closely with stakeholders to ensure a safe and transparent liquidation process.
