Wed, 26 Nov 2025 Foreign tourists to pay extra fee to visit US national parks

Non-residents will soon have to pay a higher price to enter 11 of the United States' most popular parks.

* Foreign tourists will need to pay an extra $100 (£76) on top of existing fees to access 11 popular US national parks.
* The fee hike aims to make international visitors contribute their fair share to maintaining and improving the parks, while keeping prices affordable for US citizens.
* From 2026, non-residents will also need to pay more than $250 for an annual pass to the parks, compared to $80 for US citizens and permanent residents.
* The increased revenue will be used for conservation and maintenance at the sites.
* Eight "patriotic fee-free" days are planned in 2026, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veteran's Day.
